Where is the channel at?  Is that a deeper part of the lake you are talking about?  I tried to find a map of the lake contour but couldn't find one online.

I don't know about a map but a small fish finder is a good investment. You don't need a big fancy one. Just knowing the depth, especially on that lake, will help a bunch.

I went with the Lowrance. I mounted the transducer to the hull. Probably not my brightest idea but I haven't had any problems with it yet.

Using a battery out of an old electric scooter for power.

I have lowrance on my wilderness kayak . I mounted it with the shoot  thru the hull method . Nothing exposed outside the kayak to get tangled or broken .

That's what I wanted to do but I really wanted the Temp readings as well.

It's been 20+ years since I fished Springfield lake and there was a horsepower limit on the lake.  I've been trying to research the regs. for the lake but I cannot find much detail.  I brought the boat back from Table Rock and was wondering if I could put in on Springfield Lake?  Horsepower limit?  Trolling motor only?  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks

Here's a chart that will help. https://www.cityutilities.net/wp-content/uploads/community-parkslakes.pdf

6 horsepower limit but there isn't a ramp to use currently. Supposed to replace it when the bridge work on 65 is completed.

Well there is no ramp access for Springfield lake anymore unless you're taking a flat bottom John in the back of a truck and even then you can only have a 6 horse

if every body had a pole and a fish on the line there would never be a war
