Cindyjo Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Decided to go fishing yesterday. Was at the dock at 1:30. Lake was mostly calm. As soon as I arrived I noticed activity on the surface. Shad popping through. Birds actively feeding on shad. And a few swirls. My thoughts were, Hmmm this is a good sign. Headed to one of my frequently visited GPS locations. Caught 4 in the first 15 minutes. Then 2 more in the next 20 minutes. Released them all safely, but did have one bleeder. 2 in the keeper size. Then the sun broke through the cloud cover. Breeze picked up. That location went completely dead. Not sure if the bleeder or the sun turned them off. So off to the next GPS location. If the sun was the issue then the next location would be dead also. Caught 9 in the next 1.5 hrs. One was like i have never seen before. It had dark black blotches across its body. Looked like one of those south american bass. Unique coloring but healthy looking large mouth at 16". 3 of the 9 were in the keeper class. All fish caught on a spoon. Headed in at approx. 3:30. It was simply a nice fishing day. So they are still actively feeding. Dont know how much longer it will last. Till next time. magicwormman, Diamond City Fisher, Phil Lilley and 2 others 5
