Jeff Cross caught this beatiful brown off our dock early this morning. He was using power bait, 6 lb line and a small treble hook.

24.75 inches with a 16.5 inch girth. No weight was taken but guessed it to be about 8.5 pounds.

Nice lookin fish. Is that a release with the long net? Tip my hat to the lucky guy if so! Just like to see good fish put back to fight another battle.

Judging by its gut, I'd say that fish had been hanging around the fish cleaning station. I've seen a lot of big fish on the White hanging around any place where fish are cleaned. Still a beautiful fish though!

And of course, I was fishing the White at BSD... where the fish were NOT cooperating....

Nice pheesh!!!!!

I wear camo sometimes when fishing, and I release almost all of my trout and bass. Of course, I don't fish with Power Bait unless it's to intro some kiddo to trout fishing, either. But let's not make too many assumptions. Phil's pretty good about educating and inspiring his bait and spin fishing clientele about C&R. A LOT of fish caught at Lilley's get returned unharmed to fight another day.

Does it really matter what it was eating or how it was caught? Doesn't mske it any less of a fish in my eyes. Or him any less of a fisherman. Great fish, Good job Jeff.
