Guest Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 I finally scored a deer this evening, right after work. Killed a fatty doe with archery at 45 yards. At first, I didn't find any blood & it was getting dark. I was worried that I missed due to the long shot or the rain might wash away the blood. After 20 minutes, I started walking big circles in the woods & stumbled across splattered blood. Never found the arrow, but I found her piled up about 50 yards from where I last saw her. She was laying in grandpas junk pile, must've tripped over the carpet. Lol I've never seen the in-laws so happy until tongiht. It took 2hrs 20 minutes from the time I released the arrow until grandma got back strap in the skillet. Helluva good way to start off the Christmas holiday.

Guest Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 I should saved the deer hair for jig tying. Anybody kill a deer & use the hair versus store bought bucktail?
Gavin Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Northern deer have better hides for tying. Cheap enough, cleaned, and already died from Wapsi.
