Tightline Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Fished our way up James yesterday afternoon. Finally got to some decent looking water at Ashers,(Flat Creek was muddy).Caught 47 Whites give or take one or two and 5 big Crappie. The Whites were mostly yearlings 10-12 inches,my favorite kind to eat! What big sows we caught we threw back.Water was 64.5 degrees and dingy, threw chartreuse SM and Vibrax RT. Most were caught at Longcamp. Watch out for debris floating where James meet Flat creek, it was really bad,had to idol for 200 yds. TL
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 24, 2007 Root Admin Posted March 24, 2007 Where is Asher on this map? http://ozarkanglers.com/james_river/maps/lower1.jpg I need to mark some areas so people know where to refer to.
Seth Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 This is the area that I have always called Ashercane Bottoms. Also, I see that you don't have what we call Walnut Springs. I marked that on the other map too. Ashercane is the L-shaped hole and Walnut Springs it the straighter hole that is just before McCords Bend.
Tightline Posted March 24, 2007 Author Posted March 24, 2007 Phil, Ashers Cane Bottoms is the straight strech on the map directly by your legend box that has MDC access in it.The first bend up river with the long cove going off to the north,is Longcamp.Hope this helps. Seth you got em reversed,I think, what your calling Ashers I thought was called Carr Bottoms,I could be wrong wouldn't be the first time. Can anyone else chime in on this?
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 24, 2007 Root Admin Posted March 24, 2007 Seth- mark Walnut Springs for me. MDC access? From off 173? Thanks guys.
Tightline Posted March 24, 2007 Author Posted March 24, 2007 This is what I call Ashers cane bottoms.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 24, 2007 Root Admin Posted March 24, 2007 You said there is an access?
Tightline Posted March 24, 2007 Author Posted March 24, 2007 Yes but found out its not MDC ,I have never used it and not sure that the public can.
Micheal Kyle Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 The way I understand and please correct me if I'm wrong any concrete boat ramp on a corp lake is supposed to be public no matter it's location. To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 24, 2007 Root Admin Posted March 24, 2007 Depends where the take line is.
