ozark trout fisher Posted March 22, 2017 Author Posted March 22, 2017 23 hours ago, Johnsfolly said: I appreciate the kind words. I have been blessed and cursed with natural curiosity, a collector's spirit, a knack for taxonomy, a love of field guides and dichotomous keys, and a photographic memory. I also appreciate all the diversity that the Lord has provided for us to enjoy. So getting after the little ones especially those that are brightly colored in the spring is becoming a obsession. We missed fishing together last Jigfest, I hope if we are both there again that we get a chance to drag some trout around. I love fishing for little, obscure species. This (and brook trout) is why God invented the 3-weight. When I am in a strange watershed or region (as I often am, my research dictates that I spend time in all kinds of weird locales across the rural midwest and western Appalachia) I also find myself streamside looking at various flora and fauna at least as much as I'm actually fishing these days. It doesn't help the fish count and confuses some people who are dead-serious anglers...but I can't say that it usually results in much regret. Johnsfolly 1
