Lifes2Short Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Well from my front deck the bite did slow way down from what it had been. Put in @ Roark about 9 and fished till 5 on a pretty raw and windy day. We ended up with about 30 but they were very scattered and for us hard to come by with any consistent pattern or area. I think we only had 3 keepers but this 5.2 made the day all worth while. The water temps were 48 to 52. I had 2 firsts happen yesterday: Austin actually snagged a fish in the tail with a shakey-head and we ended up stuck on top of a big submerged tree and thought we were going to have to find somebody to pull us off. However after enough thrashing back and forth at a 45 degree angle we finally slid off the tree with nothing more than some new scratches on the bottom of the boat. I do have to tell you it's a pretty funny feeling being stuck like that and no one in sight............. Tight Lines! Skeeter ZX190, buzzbaitr, waterpossum and 2 others 5
Hunter91 Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Glad I scrolled down to the second pic! I was about to question your scales accuracy Lifes2Short 1

I have been fishing there since 92 and have on countless occasions been stuck on on submerged wood. When this happens you gotta fire up big motor trim her up and simply power off, sometimes back an forth in forward and reverse to get free. My son and sing a song for it " stuck on a staub" Nice fish!

We were so high up and centered on the tree that forward or reverse did nothing, it was like the perfect balance out of water....even if we put weight in the front or back of the boat. We ended up dropping the trolling motor, put her on high and then pushed the bow left & right until FINALLY the boat slid off the tree. It was weird because we weren't going fast at all, just the right speed to high center. Sure wish someone had a camera in another boat and took a photo of us floundering around in the water, on top of the tree. :-)

Glad you made it of without to much damage, and only scratches! Again, nice toad! Lifes2Short 1
