Hammer time Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Put in at 9am, water temperature dropped over 10 degrees from last Friday at ramp, showing 43.9 with ice on bank in spots. Went up and under bridge, temp 39.6 made a few casts and headed towards Springield cove area. Down sized to a 4" junebug shaky head worm and struggled to catch 5 all day with one keeper on cb. Had one big white bass as well. Fished bluffs entire trip and loaded up at 3:30. Warmest water I seen was 46.2. Cold front has dropped lake temps and pushed fish deeper and gave em lock jaw or at least for me. CPR and tight lines! 5fshlmt, zarraspook, Skeeter ZX190 and 3 others 6
Dkman Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Thanks for the report HT. I am hoping to be at to CC area this Friday to find some crappie and white bass ( or anything that bites for that matter ). I was worried this cold front would shut them down.
inshore Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 had the same problem at TR week ago. water temp was 54 then dropped to 49 just shut them down. cked water temp at state park wt was 46 today was 49 yesterday. think I will wait till next week should go back to 52 or better. keep hammering them.
Lifes2Short Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Good to see you today ?! I ended up with 9, 3 average keepers. However after you headed back up river I found the whites, boy did I find them!!!! I caught 17 in almost as many casts. HUGE ones, 2 to 3 pounds and fighting hard!!! I kept 10 of the big ones hoping to give them them to someone on the water but never did see another boat so I sent them swimming. Hammer time, Walleyedmike, redshad and 1 other 4
blacknoseddace Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Gotta hand it to you guys...if you can catch fish after a cold front like this one, you could catch fish anytime. Lifes2Short 1

Them whites that size are fun and pull and fight like freight trains! Good to see you as well. Other than you, only seen one guy in a Lund spider rigging in the Shaw bluff area as I fished back to the ramp.
