Hammer time Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Met with OA member Zaraspook at 7:30 to 50.8 water temp at ramp. Went up Big sac and worked back to ramp. Was a tuff bite for us, ended up with 9 all blacks and no keeps. Had to finesse the few we caught, junebug finesse worm on channel banks. Had a great time anyways, as it was the second time we fished together. Zaraspook has a ton of knowledge and experience, so for me, just fun picking his brain and enjoying the day together! Loaded up at 1pm. CPR and tight lines! ewlech, jim m and zarraspook 3
zarraspook Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 My "ton" is down to about a 1/2 ton... Every time I pointed out an area on the lake - Hammer told me what i was about to say... Don't let Hammer fool you about his fishing knowledge.. He has more time on the various waters than most, fishing Stockton, have been alive..... Good trip... With "Bluebird" skies it was tough... jim m 1 "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
jim m Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 fishing is not always about catching, time spent with someone can be a great experience Brad N Steph 1
redshad Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 I agree with Jim. Sounds like you guys had a good time even without a good bite. Hopefully the wind will back off a little for the weekend. Thanks for the reports guys. Brad N Steph 1

zarraspook Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 I have a question about the form. I am a, Banded Pygmy Sunfish, How do the names get assigned? If you look at a few posts and the "rank" of the posters -- you will notice that the more that you interact with the board ( posting, commits, etc) you will see the higher the number of post and the reputation number equals a bigger fish.. Phil If I'm wrong please correct !!! redshad 1 "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"

Hammer time Posted March 24, 2017 Author Posted March 24, 2017 Should be fantastic fishing this weekend, low pressure moving in with rain, equals HAMMERTIME! Good luck Red shad redshad 1
redshad Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Thanks Zara! I didn't want to be a pygmy sunfish for life. I agree Hammer this weekend could be good. I hope it is not to stormy Saturday. I am not a big fan of lighting around with me standing on a deck swinging a 7ft lighting rod. I will fish around the storms but try to take cover if the bad stuff come in. Better to be safe than sorry. I was fishing a tournament when I lived in Texas and two boys got killed by lighting during the tournament. They were sitting in the running seats not on the decks but it got both of them. They found their boat stuck in the trees after the storm. We had taken shelter in a little café right off the water. MOPanfisher Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Hoping I can sneak over for a little fishing Saturday night. Too windy for my bank antics last night and tonight. Will see how today's Dr. Appt goes, sometimes not able to do much for a couple days. Fairly small window for catching a walleye the way I fish, so gotta hit it while it's open. Johnsfolly 1
