Members Rattletrap1 Posted March 29, 2017 Members Posted March 29, 2017 Could anyone give me any information on when and where the bass spawn on lower Taneycomo. I am still in high school so i mainly fish this lake in the summer time and usually do pretty good in doing so. I was just curious on if i could catch a few fish off of beds or not. Thank you
MSUFisherBear Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 You might go back and search through this forum from several years back. There's a lot of information on this. I can't say I've ever sight fished this lake, so I'm not much help there. There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind. ~Washington Irving
Royal Blue Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 I would guess that they'll spawn a little later on this lake just due to the water temps, but if the water up Bull Creek gets anywhere near 60 degrees soon, I'd say they'll go way up in there.
likinmo Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 I was told a couple weeks ago...cause i asked this same question to one of the resort owners on lake taney. That its about a month later than tablerocks spawn? Dont know if thats right but thats what I was told.
Gatorjet Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 So, what is your thoughts on bass fishing lower Taneycomo during the first week of May. I already have a trip planned for May 2-4 and thought I would run down lake a ways, and give Taneycomo bass fishing a try. Locations, tackle, techniques, lures? Real men go propless!

And usually stay below bull creek, The island that is right across form Rockaway is a good spot there is lots of brush and stumps all the way around the island that fish like to sit on. Another good spot is those docks just down lake past the first bed. There is no grass in them and on a sunny day the bass like to sit up underneath them. When it gets hot in the summer time you can flip whatever you want in there and get bit and there are usually some good ones that hide in there. Flipping brush all the way down by the dam had produced for me too. Take it for what its worth but that's usually what i do when i hit taney. My pb was caught at there being 7.8 at the end of may last year so there are some good fish in that lake for sure. Royal Blue 1
