Members harber01 Posted April 2, 2017 Members Posted April 2, 2017 Just looking for a little advice - I've had my boat at Table Rock for the last 20+ years and haven't fished the Ozarks in probably 25 years. My in-laws just bought a condo at the Knolls (between Turkey Bend & Osage Beach). Just hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Back of the coves around there any good? Points better? Do I need to travel for best success? Not asking for your hotspots, just some general info. I will be coming down this coming weekend (April 7th). Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks.
fishinwrench Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 You won't have to run very far at all. Start right close to home and learn Salt hollow and Miller hollow like the back of your hand, then you can take everything you learn there and go just about anywhere else on the lake. trashman1973, DChance and harber01 3

DChance Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 good advice from wrench. The basic rules of thumb for LOZ that I use are after the spawn you can follow fish on staging areas back out from spawning spots. Then in about June once they typically start generating water at the dam, I simply hop points and fish the current with deep diving cranks, jigs, etc. and usually do this until they really slow down generation, when they aren't generating water become familiar with brush piles. I run that pattern until they start following shad in about Sept./Oct. transitioning for fall. In fall find the shad. Then once it really cools I fish the typical winter type areas until spring comes and fish start to move back to spawning areas. harber01 and dnj21 2
WeekendWarrior Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Perfect advice by all, only other thing I could add is to fish some of the hard to get to places around docks and you can be rewarded with some of the better fish to be had, but not necessary at all times. DChance and harber01 2
