4/7 Cape Fair area crappie report

We got 6 keepers from 5:00-7:30 in 20-30 FOW near standing timber. The fish were suspended at 12'-18'. Caught about as many shorts. Couldn't get more than 2 fish off of a spot. White shadpole with chartreuse tail tipped with a minnow and plain ole minnow on a hook, slow drifted, or reeled though the fish we marked on the graph. We didn't try any other colors maybe we should have. Other people I talked to were doing about as well as we were.

Fishing way too deep I think! Not saying they aren't that deep but that's not where I would try. Thanks for the report! Not knocking your tactics just saying I would try little shallower. Beautiful day to be out that's for sure!!
