Gavin Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Is it a clean break or is the rod splintered? If its splintered there isnt much you can do. If its a clean break you might be able to fix it with a small metal rod and some epoxy. Find a nail, metal rod, of the appropriate size, and fit it to the two sections..Epoxy the nail into the butt end and let it set...add more epoxy, then slide the tip back on. Cheers.
Members mataideas Posted December 20, 2008 Members Posted December 20, 2008 Guess what i broke the end of my rod off today (arghh!!!). First two eyelets are gone. Can't really fit new rod tip on the end of it. It's my Medium Heavy casting rod so it's gettin kinda stiff with the loss of length. Anyone have any ideas of how to fix it? Any other uses for it? by the way, I guarantee that everyone else has done this too...Probably more than once.
Members mataideas Posted December 20, 2008 Members Posted December 20, 2008 Yes, I have invented a plastic detachable rod tip that requires no glue to stay on. it threads on like a electrical wire nut connector with tappered threads inside for gip. You can purchase them from me or look in sports houses this year, My new design is for a quick fix called Grip Tip" it can be used as a temporary fix or permanent solution to the broken rod ends. It faster and easier than the metal ones now, mine is new and unique compare and let me know, Regards, Roland
duckydoty Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 I had to bread several rods before I got smart enough to start buying rods with warrenties.
