Fish24/7 Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 7/24 WT 88 6:30-11 the same holes Shad were still there , it's been almost a month now. Showing themselves regularly bass fed pretty good all morning. Boated 22, lost 4. 8 of those were just keeper kentuckies, 3 were small largemouth keepers.. Kept 3 of the kentuckies for lunch ,threw the rest back. A lot of follows from baby bass and bluegill. Caught a few on top first thing then the rest were on the custom red eye again and a 7/16 finesse swim jig. Boat sitting in 12-27 fow. lunch Diamond City Fisher 1
Fish24/7 Posted July 25, 2017 Author Posted July 25, 2017 7/25 Wt89 6:30-10:30 same place because it just keeps producing week after week. some days are slow, some days are a lot of fun! I have been checking the dam every morning for generation, figured the bite was going to be slow and it was. Caught 7 . a keeper largemouth on a topwater , 3 short lm on the red eye, and a few spots. one was a keeper barely. all released
Fish24/7 Posted July 26, 2017 Author Posted July 26, 2017 7/26 Wt 90 6:30-11 decided to leave the schoolies alone and commit to the shallow bite with a homemade buzzbait and a custom painted shallow wake/crank. bite was slow, caught 8 total. 3 small keeper largemouth, 3 short largemouth, and 2 short k's. to start the buzzbait was working in places like this...they absolutely hammered it . when the wind picked up around 9:45 the crankbait on points got the nod little short guys were fat... the small keepers were all skinny as heck... all released and from now on i take my panfish gear with me every time, i saw dozens of nice gills cruising shallow today that I could have played with, and they looked hungry ! Fish24/7 Posted August 1, 2017 Author Posted August 1, 2017 8/1 wt 86 didn;t see any shad on top, saw no bass feeding, no fish on the screen shallower than 16', marking a lot suspended in 16-25' now., especially where there's a long run out. Bait and fish schools. trolled a shallow diving crank, caught 10 short and 1 keeper largemouth. when the rain started, they stopped biting the crank ,got wet and i left Diamond City Fisher 1
Fish24/7 Posted August 2, 2017 Author Posted August 2, 2017 8/2 wt 86 7-11:30 with the boat sitting in 22 fow trolled for about 2 hours keeping the boat in 22-29fow adjacent to the edge of a flat bigger than a football field.. went back and forth with the entire arsenal but only caught 2 small keeper lm. Surface activity was getting good so I started chasing schoolies around. Hooked 4 bass on topwater and boated 1, a short lm. The chase didn't last very long but it's neat to see insane aerial stunts from bass as they torpedo through the shad. They looked/acted really hungry but I wasn;t catching them very good so I went to the bank to try the shallow bite. Tied on a homemade crankbait I designed for heavy cover and went straight to the back of a cove with a creek channel ,boat in 1-8fow. Caught a little keeper lm on my first cast as the bait rolled off the side of a small tree trunk. Caught a short lm on the second cast, and another on the third cast to the same trees. Spun the chair around and caught 2 more smaller one's behind me. I dropped anchor and fan casted the area. Caught 1 more keeper and lost another decent one that wrapped me up. Pulled anchor to go get my lure so I floated out to the 6-8' range and started catching little kentuckies. c&r all.Realized I was getting pretty sunburned and forgot my cooler so I called it a day. Fished around the Spring Creek area today and put a wooping on em. Started out around the Wing & Fin dock at sunrise and had 4 keeper LM before I hit the island towards point 13 on topwater. Lots of surface activity. Only going to get better. Diamond City Fisher and Fish24/7 2
