Going to be heading down in a week and was wondering if the fishing was still slow?  I've been down twice this summer.  4th of July weekend was great for bass on crankbaits in the back of coves.  Caught my PB all the way in the back of a cove with a square bill.

2nd trip was mid-July and fishing had noticeably slowed and what I did catch was all on senkos deep or around docks.  I'm hoping this round of cooler weather at night might help wake them up again but I'm not holding my breath...

We really grinder out every morning this past weekend.  With very few keepers.  Went all the way to back of Gravios and main lake points and under docks.  Water temps in the high 80s. Feels like bath water.  Thermocline where we were swimming in buck creek was about 12 feet.

Yes it is still slow unless you pull up on right spot at right time early or late. Will get better shortly when kids get back to school and boat traffic slows down.

For LOZ standards it is slow.  But still better than most lakes :)

It is amazing compared to what I have to choose from in central Iowa...more walleye fishing options than bass options up here other than ponds.

Fishing the Wednesday nighter tonight with my son, I'll report back.  Last couple was tough to scrape together a limit in 3 hours.

Question...can anyone fish those tourneys?  I have an out of state MO fishing license.  Just wasn't sure the specifics, but I'd like to try one sometime!

Sure, good group of guys I don't see why not.  Just get to PB2 a little early and sigh up.

Excited to head down tonight!  I'm wondering with this cooler weather at night if the fish have moved back into the back of coves shallow during early morning hours?  Prior to the 4th, I did really well on shallow running crankbaits deep in coves and am hoping that might be the case again.  The low on Friday night is 55?!

I don't believe any deep fish have moved to the backends yet, but there are always resident fish in the backs that stay there all Summer.  I have 4 rods on deck now. A hollow bodied frog, a lipless crankbait, a Jig or big worm for pitchin' to shady spots, and the 4th rod either has a spinnerbait, buzzbait, or a swim jig on it.

I just hop from one backend to the next and can usually end up with a 14-16# limit in 3-4 hours.  I haven't caught a fish much over 4 in quite a while.
