jeb Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Just watched the weather, and they gave a 7 day rain total prediction of 6-7 inches of rain. I know it's a good thing for the area, but it'll probably muddy up the lake again. I prefer fishing clearer water, so not looking forward to it. Just in time for me to get back to fishing after a 4 month layoff from rotator cuff surgery. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Dan the fisherman Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 I really hope it doesn’t flood. If it does, I’ll start bass fishing earlier than normal
Stump bumper Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Some water running out of the creeks will bring the gizard shad into the creeks and start a feeding frezie! But too much mud will run the stripers back North. 1 inch or less per day should be just what we want, I will be watching the weather and running to the lake during the first break in the rain. My personal best on everything has been in Feb in weather like this, 35lb striper, 8lb bass, 8lb Walleye. Wednesday looks the best but cold. Dan the fisherman 1
Dan the fisherman Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 I completely agree Stump. I’ll be out Thursday and Friday if the wind stays down and it doesn’t thunderstorm should be good

Just in time for me to get back to fishing after a 4 month layoff from rotator cuff surgery. Ease back in to the water with that shoulder, brother... Had mine rebuilt (cut all muscles in cuff to bone, then reattached alternating sides: staples, eye screws, etc.) several years ago. First couple of trips were VERY painful. Didn't make me come in any sooner, just had to whine a little more than anticipated once I returned home Holler if I can be of any help - fishing one-winged is tougher than folks think. jeb Posted February 21, 2018 Author Posted February 21, 2018 Thanks for the advice. Mine was only a partial tear, so I'm hoping once I'm released to fish, it won't give me too much of an issue. But I'll sure back it down if gives me much pain. jolicious 1 John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Quillback Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Looks like it has come up a foot and still rising.
Guest Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 There will be mudlines, logjams, floaters & such. The White River crested around 18ft this morning, it was 2ft yesterday. Usually the mudline will go to HC area maybe Monte Ne within a few days. This is such a common occurrence that I've learned to embrace it & use it to my advantage. The walleye should be real happy.
Quillback Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Well I don't want to embrace any log jams. But, nice to get some color in the lake, I am hoping for a happy medium.
jeb Posted February 22, 2018 Author Posted February 22, 2018 Still not a fan of stained/muddy water, but you guys that like it should be happy. Prairie Creek is running pretty brown. The back part of the cove is all stained, and there is a mud streak down the middle at mid-cove. News this morning said another 3" or so before it clears off on Sunday.
