Members CS Huntley Posted March 2, 2018 Members Posted March 2, 2018 I was wondering if anyone has fished this stretch and if it's floatable in a kayak. Thanks, Chris Bass Yakker 1
vonreed Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 It's for sure a doable float. I float it a couple times a year and rarely see anyone. It's short but has some switchback spots that can log jam easily after floods. It's probably someones secret spot, but I've had real good success fishing that stretch. Water is usually real stained though from the powerplant above. If you do float it, keep in mind one time I floated years ago and someone had put a full size Bass Boat at the bridge on 160 in somehow and I saw them right before Rivercut Bridge. Just around the bend was a log jam and I always wondered how they got themselves out of that situation, because going back upstream on that stretch really isn't an option, you will see. Bass Yakker 1
TroutRinger Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 I’ve waded at the golf course once several years ago. Did very well. Dont know why I never went back. crappie_adams83 Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 Me and my family did a float the end of last year from 160 to rivercut and yea there are a few spots that you need to watch out for but it’s doable Bass Yakker 1 if every body had a pole and a fish on the line there would never be a war
navery Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 How did someone launch a bass boat at 160? There's not even a ramp there or turning around room?
vonreed Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 Not any more. You used to be able to drive down to the river on the East side years ago.
