Members Duckman Posted April 24, 2007 Members Posted April 24, 2007 Well it took around 5 seasons to break my record of 76lbs, but I did it last Sunday. Launched out of The Old Oar House and went up stream towards Truman Dam and here is what I found lying in wait. Tipped the scales at 85 lbs. My best yet but by no means am I going to be happy until I hit that Century Mark!! See ya all at Schell Osage this weekend if you are heading that way. Look for a white and blue bumper pull camper hooked behind a Chevy z-71 and that will be us. We're taking the fryer down for this final-final weekend and going to have us a "BILL" fry right on the river bank. So stop in and have a chunk or two if you get in the area. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 24, 2007 Root Admin Posted April 24, 2007 Man, that's a big, fat fish!!
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Wow! Either that's a very big fish . . . or . . . you're a very small man! Nice catch! John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
Members Stuartwp Posted April 25, 2007 Members Posted April 25, 2007 What a fish! I have never had the opportunity to go snagging, obviously that is something I need to try and correct! What a fish!
Seth Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 That's a good un. The biggest one I caught this year was only maybe 55 pounds. I never did find any toads. I bet you would of won some good money if you had entered that Snagmasters tourney. By the way, did you hear any results on the Snagmasters tourney?
Members Duckman Posted April 25, 2007 Author Members Posted April 25, 2007 Not yet, but I'm sure I'll hear something in the weeks to come. They've got a big tourney out of Oar House this coming weekend. I think last year 1st place took over 4 grand home! I do know that the largest spoony weighed in at the Oar House this year was supposedly 84 lbs. I figured someone would of had a larger one weighed in so I didn't weight mine there. I waited till we got home and put it on our digital deer scale and it read 85 lbs. I sometimes wonder about that scale at the Oar House, it is getting old and gets played with by kids hanging on it all the time! But that is what they use and go by. Members Duckman Posted April 26, 2007 Author Members Posted April 26, 2007 Here's a couple more pics of last weeks outting. Hopefully have some more and better ones for you this coming weekend! If You're Not In DEBT, You Ain't Bassin'!
gonefishin Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Those are some nice 'bills. Whens the fish fry? I would rather be fishin'. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." Benjamin Franklin, 1759
Seth Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I wish I didn't have to goto stupid Prom this Saturday or else I would head up there to Truman and hit it with you fellers. I'm debating whether to go snagging Sunday or not since it will be the last weekend day. I guess alot depends if I get a turkey Saturday.
