Members Ranger Dave
I have made 3 trips to Spring River in the last 2 weeks (April 12, April 21, and April 24). Caught 40 the first trip, 39 the second trip, and 65 the second trip. Average length was about 14inches but had about 20 close to 17 inches. Water temp was 62. Typically an early bite, before 11 AM. ollie
Up around 10C bridge? I am hearing that a lot lately! "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek! Members Ranger Dave
We caught most of ours near the power line south of the floating cabins. We went again yesterday. We tried the 10 Bridge area but didn't do as well as the power line area and I don't like taking my boat past the shallow area north of the cabins. Brought home 54 whites and 2 crappie yesterday. In all, we have caught 184 whites and 2 crappie in the last 2 1/2 weeks. I think the peak is over now. The fishing was a little slower yesterday than it was last week. The first 2 trips we used shad raps and flicker shads. The last 2 trips we used buck tail jigs. They really seemed to like the gray buck tails. ollie
