Members Girschwinn Posted May 24, 2018 Members Posted May 24, 2018 Doing a float from Greer to Whiitten on Friday. Anybody been on the river recently? Just wondering if the fish have been biting, and if so what on??? I know you cant use soft plastics until after Turner Mill. Gonna try a pink Ned rig worm after Turner and hopefully land a decent fish or 2!
jdmidwest Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 It was pretty big and cloudy Sunday when I drove over it on 142. If you are going for trout, try a crawdad crankbait with some red or orange in it. Gavin Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 They eat a ton of 2" olive colored craws down there, big stones too. Deep craw cranks, & 1/8 oz jigs should do well.
Members Girschwinn Posted June 1, 2018 Author Members Posted June 1, 2018 Did ok until the crazy storm rolled in. Caught my 2 best rainbows. One on a bumblebee rooster tail, and the other on a bubblegum ned rig!!!
jdmidwest Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 So, how was the water? "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
