Spent most of the day in Long Creek. Can't say we had much success. Not a lot of color in the water down there. I know it was a tough day to fish, at least for me, but to only catch 8 bass. That was one of the worst trips I have had this year. Hope you get to go and enjoy the weather.

Lots of people? Bill said it was the first "big boat day of the season" Saturday and Sunday- lots of big cruisers and even skiers. Long Creek should be sheltered from most of it though.

Been wanting to get over and crappie fish in Long... you say the water is clear. Crappie will be spawning deep then.

Long Creek is probably not the best place to be after the bassess right now. Try moving out on the main lake and fishing featured points and bluffends early with topwater and then working the flats with either grubs or splitshot rigs.

On Thursday, I did have 14 keepers from the 86 bridge to the Arkansas line. I was on a shakey head and moving it in one spot and not dragging it too much.

Had 6 topwater fish early that set the day.

Also had several nice fish on a hula grub, and a Jewell Jig. MOVE IT VERY SLOWLY. If you are dragging across a K bed and you move it thru the bed, they will just let it go. If you move it slow, your chance of remaining in front of the fish for a longer period of time will increase your nips.

It is not uncommon for Kentucks to spawn in the 14 to 18 ft. range on the Rock.

Yes, Yes we all see the beds on the bank and in 6 ft. of water. That is but a miniscule portion of the bass. Both K's and Jaws will spawn at the maximum depth of clearity and below.

People get bored to quick and change what they are doing. We have layed the fondation for what to do. Seek out the fish and make these presentations and you will catch fish. Good Luck

I got out Sat. and Sunday both. Sat. I found the bite to be tough. I fished the Kimberling area and searched and searched for wind and had trouble finding it. Did manage a couple smallies but nothing to brag about. I did also catch my first mean mouth-if that is what you call them.

Sunday I didn't get out until 3 and made a run up the James a bit and fished until 5:30 catching 4 LM, 3 solid keepers, one going 4 pounds. All 4 came between 3 and 7 feet of water on a homemade brown and purple flash 5/16th ounce jig. Water was fairly dingy and 69 degrees.

I hope to get out again soon but will probably be living through you guys for a week or so.

Good Luck!

Fished White River Friday did verywell lots of good bows, 13-16 inch range, one three pounder.

Saturday hit Norfork Lake in the dam area to Jordan caught some smallies all small, 12 inches and under one nice crappie. Found several Largemouth on beds.

Sunday pm hit Table Rock from just below 86 bridge to about 1 1/2 north did zilch, one long eared sunfish, found white bass surfacing but could not convience them to hit our lures.

Found a lot of fish on the fish finder but could not entice a hit. I figure they were K's on beds. I may run up and dive the points to confirm that those are really fish.

If you want to fish for fun carp are spawning and chasing anything thats in their way.

Fished a couple of hours Sunday in Buzzard's Creek near Cape Fair. Saw 4 other boats working the same area. Quite a few bites on pumpkin Zoom Dr. in 14' to 18' but no fish in the boat. Fished looked to be holding tight to the bottom. I think we were dragging across beds and they were just getting the bait out of the way rather than hitting it hard. Water was fairly stained and fry were hitting an insect hatch in one of the smaller coves. Beautiful day but I think I hit well used water. I might try wacky worm rigging next time.
