Avoiding the canoe floatillas makes for a better day: Fish early below a popular acess, then move down to the next put in and fish up, go do whatever while the crowds party then go fish the put in after 4:30 or 5. Most of the floaters will be gone by dinner time.

I was wondering about Greens myself, I had heard it's closed up. I agree, however that the upper above the spring would be the place to be.

We camped at Meramec Springs and caught a lot of Trout in the park  Rented Kayaks on Tue. from Outdoor Adventures and floated to Indian Springs, the water was still up and pretty murky from a rain they had gotten on Sunday and the fishing was tough for us, think we caught 7-9 small mouth and Goggle eye no size to any.  Packed up Thursday and moved to Bennett Springs and beat up on some more park Trout. All in all it was a good trip just blazing hot but made the spring water feel good!

Thanks for all the info and advise,

you could camp at Meramec Springs and have trout and smallmouth within walking distance. Adventure Outdoors down at Scotts Ford usually puts a ton of folks on the Hwy 8 to Scotts Ford float. Would call Green's to see if they can set you up on  a float above Hwy 8.

The last time I used Greene's they told me they were going out of business. The guy that shuttle me, don't remember his name. Big guy with long hair. Anyway, he said he was going to call me and leave a voicemail with his contact info so I could call him for shuttles. But I never received a call. Kinda a bummer because I really liked the 9 mile float taking out at hwy 8 bridge and I havnt been able to find anybody to shuttle me on that part of the river since
