ruthead Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Tried a Beatle and ant this weekend . No luck but nothing seemed to be working with the dead slick water. Didnt try em with ripple on the water c-back was working so well. cracklebak and JestersHK 2 "Pretty soon we may not have any rights left because it might infringe on someone's rights"
JestersHK Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 I'm hoping to find some hopper bite this upcoming weekend and next week. If the hoppers aren't working don't be afraid to go to a smaller beetle or ant pattern. If the water pattern stays the same you can also try your luck at night with big beetle patterns. Find the flat water at night and fish the swirls and boils. Top water at night has been my latest favorite when the conditions are right.
Jdecoudres Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 I threw hopper this weekend down to fall creek. Had couple of lookers but no takes. JestersHK 1
Members CLoyd Posted July 3, 2018 Members Posted July 3, 2018 I haven't tried it yet this year, but I have had success with a small Griffiths Gnat in clear water if you can find some midging fish near the surface. I haven't fished during the daytime in a month though, I've been fishing streamers at night. ruthead and JestersHK 2
