Members Midge Posted May 4, 2007 Members Posted May 4, 2007 Brian, How bad is it? How long do yu think it will take to get back to normal? Keep us posted.
ColdWaterFshr Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I'd say shes a blown out. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/mo/nwis/uv/?site..._cd=00065,00060
Mark Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I see it's almost 7 feet at Bardley guage. Someone put some perspective on it for me - does that put the Whitten access underwater? Also, does flood conditions move more fish downstream?
Brian Sloss Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 The river is currently hosed. Whitten is not under water, but you don't want to be floating down there and the fishing will be done for a few days. May be floatable and fishable by next weekend. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
snap Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Maybe now would be a good time to do Thomasville to Cane???
BrianK Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 my thoughts exactly. this should keep flows up until i can get down there. Anyone have an idea how it will affect the spawn? i'm guessing they do ok unless there is hi water off and on thru May. bk
Mark Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Snap, you're getting pretty technologically advanced with pictures, aren't you?
jdmidwest Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 I am sure it is a blowout on the upper end also. The snags and gradient on the upper river would make it pretty technical this weekend also. Fishing would not be very good either. This weekend is for lakes and ponds.... "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
