I'm taking a trip up to Stoddard Wisconsin just south of Lacrosse the first week of October to bass and pike fish. I've never been up there I've watched the Bassmasters tournament videos out of Lacrosse they were more mid summer. I can't find any recent fishing reports. Does anyone have any experience fishing up there in the fall. I'm hoping the frog bites still good. Any info will be greatly appreciated

@Macsimus lives up north.  Maybe he can give some advice?

I fished out of LaCrosse three years ago in the same timeframe at a media event.  Swim jigs, crank baits and some finesse stuff ruled. No pro was fishing a frog that I heard about, and given that Spro was one of the sponsors, frogs probably would have been used...

I just returned from a week in Wisconsin, and water levels are still extremely high, FWIW.  I'd sure give the shallow stuff a chance especially if the weather holds.

Was it common to catch pike while bass fishing or do I need to fish for pike to catch them I've never caught one

We didn't see a pike--at least that was what I heard--doesn't mean that they weren't there, but most of the fishing I did with pros was in deeper water, and the general emphasis was on bass. One of the guys I fished with did catch a walleye.
