Mhyde Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 It's been fairly quiet on this board lately compared to the Table Rock board. Don"t know that's a reflection on the fishing or everyone has just become tight lipped. I'm leaning toward its due to the fishing or lack there of. Better days are ahead. Sooner or later it's going to get going and some of the ramps including the over flow lots will be full by 9 am. Don't know about the rest of you but I've really tried to take advantage of this cold weather since all the hunting wrapped up to clean and get gear ready for this new year of fishing that is soon approaching. Still need to service my lower unit, but with the cold weather its hard to go out in the garage and do anything for any length of time, its on the top of the list as soon as we get a warm Saturday morning and I am not in the back of someone else's boat. Hope everyone has many good days on the water in 2019 and look forward to continually sharing reports and stories throughout the year. Good luck, and remember we all live down stream! redshad and liphunter 2
liphunter Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 I have my eyes on Tuesday. Although Stockton is my usual haunt, The water temperature just doesn't seem to be gaining much steam. Was thinking about heading south where all the pretty anglers go??? I meant next Tuesday if the forecast holds... Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???
Members bassfisher2017 Posted March 12, 2019 Members Posted March 12, 2019 all this rain and warm trend should move some fish shallower and dirty up the water a little bit. cold dirty water isn't usually a good thing, but it can't hurt at this point lol
Members freefallin Posted March 12, 2019 Members Posted March 12, 2019 Agreed the rain should warm the water a bit and get it flowing. Don't think I have been on Stockton in over three weeks even though it takes a whole 3 minutes to lower the boat in the water. Tackles ready, boats ready and now I am ready. Tomorrow brings my official first day of retirement, my first Social Security deposit and my first trip to the BassMaster Classic which this year is in Knoxville TN. bassfisher2017 1 BOTH POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON! Congratulations on the retirement. I did it last November. It's a learning process, but I highly recommend it. Your going out at a much better time than me. Going out at the beginning of a ever lasting winter has been a little demanding om my retirement fantasy. lol Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???

Went to the Classic the last time it was at Grand. If you have never been it can be a bit overwhelming, but we had a great time!!
Members Michael_57 Posted March 12, 2019 Members Posted March 12, 2019 I couldn't believe how clear the water was up Sac at CC, you could count the rocks on the bottom in 7' of water 2 miles past old metal bridge

Members freefallin Posted March 21, 2019 Members Posted March 21, 2019 Well just home this evening from 3 day camping in Florida (storms took out both of my guided trips). The 2019 Classic was awesome with Friday being the prime day. I actually got in a couple hours early by following in a bunch of vendors wearing my Bass U hat which had a huge booth. Saturday and Sunday had 1/4 mile lines outside the Expo waiting to get in the door. A lot of tackle deals to be had (buy one rod get two free, dozens of 5 gallon buckets full with unboxed 13, Daiwa, Lews, Shimano etc reels as low as $19.99 The Vexus world fiberglass unveiling was almost religious in the fervor of the folks attending. I easily met 20 folks who said they were a dealer. I would go again. Hoping to be on Stockton Friday up front.
