I'm heading to the smokies in June and I heard this was a hot fly. Does anybody have the recipe . I'd like to tie up a few

I'm not familiar with that one. Where did you hear about it? Maybe a pattern on a local site?

I did however pick up a starling skin recently and lvoe the way it ties. I tie it on a Tiemco 206BL witha goose Biot body (color of choice) and then tie in the hackle.

Caddis, I read about the fly on a couple web sites and a book. They seem to be tight lipped about it.

Looks like a palmered soft hackle feather, maybe greyish dun in color. I can't quite tell what the underbody is though.
