Kansas Fly Fisher Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Both locations sound good to me. The only thing holding me up would be the date and my work schedule. On 24 hours off 48 hours; so everyone pick a date and I'll see if I can make it. John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM

gonefishin Posted May 29, 2007 Author Posted May 29, 2007 Not as much interest as I thought there would be but 8 is enough for a really good time but not so many as to be over burdensome on anyone. Cool. I think Stockton would be a good place for a bluegill get together. Now we just need to set a date, time and place to meet. I would rather be fishin'. Don Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Gillin' on the fly is a blast. I remember catching big gills and 1 lb bass on the pond with a flyrod over 30 years ago. This weekend, I plan to flyfish on a farm pond for the first time in about 30 years or so. Hope to be able to keep and clean a few of those tasty fillets. I plan to be camping at Stockton with my daughters 06/20-06/22. We'll try to catch a few from the bank while we are there. Also, I read in the OAF recipes section that some members preferred Andy's fish batter. I tried it for the first time a week or so ago and it was awesome. I've not ben able to find it in Springfield. I picked it up at Jubilee Foods in Branson. Don Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
jcoberley Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Stockton works for me. Just need a little notice and I am there. I will have to be a bank fisherman I dont have a boat. Dont even know if I could afford the gas for one! Fish slow and easy! Borrowed this one from..........Well you know who! A proud memer of P.E.T.A (People Eating Tasty Animals)
gonefishin Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 Is the weekend of the 9th good for everyone? Saturday 9th or Sunday 10th? Stockton works for me. Just need a little notice and I am there. I will have to be a bank fisherman I dont have a boat. Dont even know if I could afford the gas for one! I doubt not having a boat will be a handicap. Stockton is a good lake for wading. At least in some places it is. I would rather be fishin'. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote."
