timsfly Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 I have never done well with drys down that far, long time ago, I caught some on hoppers around Muncy but it was in sept. I use mainly woolybuggers when fishing that section of the river, I'm sure any minnow pattern, sculpin, would fish well also down there, I just fish the bugger mostly, but I have been fishing a micro squirrel sculpin some in the park, it would probably do well down below also. drew03cmc Posted May 31, 2007 Author Posted May 31, 2007 You carry these flies in the shop? The sculpin patterns and stuff...also what size and color buggers? I have everything from size 8-10 in black, olive, brown, white, I think a ginger as well as some beadhead... Andy
timsfly Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Stop by, I'll have what you need for fishing below the park. Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
drew03cmc Posted June 2, 2007 Author Posted June 2, 2007 No problem. We will be down midday on the 29th. Camp reservations are done, as well as getting gear. I am needing a 7'6" 4wt fly rod as well as a reel for it with line. I prefer a click/pawl drag, so if you have anything of that nature in the $140 range for the outfit, let me know and I will get it when I get down there. Thanks Tim! Andy
Members yummysmokedham Posted June 29, 2007 Members Posted June 29, 2007 Me and the women are going down late on the 29th (I have to buy an iPhone this evening) and will be there through the 4th. We will be in campground 3, site 165, if anyone wants to drop by. I am also bringing the boat, probably go out to table rock a day or two. Speaking of table rock, has anyone done much trout fishing where roaring river and table rock meet up? Any suggestions? I was crappie fishing back in april in the kings river arm an nailed a very nice size rainbow, was suprised it was that far out of the stream.
Murdoc Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 A few years ago I caught a nice 20" trout under the Shell Knob bridge. I think he was more suprised than I was. Smiles are free http://rdpflyrods.com/
