Members kelbrand Posted August 9, 2019 Members Posted August 9, 2019 How deep are you all finding the crappie?
MrGiggles Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 I could barely find them at all. Went there last night for the first time in over a month. Found some dinks in 18-20 feet on brush, and one keeper trolling in 20ft. There is shad everywhere. Seems hard to get them to focus on a bait in those conditions. -Austin
Members kelbrand Posted August 10, 2019 Author Members Posted August 10, 2019 If the shad are everywhere, are the White Bass easy to catch now? I've run into that a couple of times where just throwing a bare hook would work!
Members Cal2 Posted August 11, 2019 Members Posted August 11, 2019 First chance to fish since spring this weekend. Had a hard time finding them Friday evening, but did nice Sat. morning. Found them in 20 foot of water and they were 10-14' deep. I just slowly moved through an area that I knew was standing trees(couldn't see them) and jigged with a 1/32 jig. It was a slow bite but productive. I would call the area that I fished a deep flat inside a cove, in the mid lake area. Nice size fish for this time of the year.
