Bill Babler Posted June 5, 2007 Author Posted June 5, 2007 Capt. Rick, Whats all the name calling about? I don't remember ever treating you on this forum or in any other vinue without using the upmost respect. If you would have read my post more clearly you would have seen that no names were mentioned, about any guide until you did, and further more I am chastising myself for my medeoaker preformance, more than I am the success of a conrad. There are several of us, that for some reason, just don't have it figured out as well as we should. This forum is designed to not only educate and help where we can, but also be entertaining. Take time to check my 400 plus posts on this thread and if you have a problem with their content please advise me how I can better serve this vinue. I strive to keep improving. I sell nothing for any company, I have allegance to no one, I am not bias for money. I never promote myself, my lodge or my guide service. My monicar at the bottom of the page, was placed not by myself but by Phil Lilley, and I asked him to remove it. He said for the service I do the forum I deserve it and he would not. The number of fish a man catches is what it is. Every post you have made is highly confrontational and for the life of me I don't know why. I wish you nothing but the best. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Rolan Duffield Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Bill: In the few years that I have known you, you always have been a very truthful sportsman willing to provide some insight about fishing and fishing conditions for the less knowledgeable fisherpersons. In fact, I agree that you never take credit for your work. We are fortunate that we have several professional sportsmen and many very good fisherman that help make this an educational, storytelling and fun web site. And a big thanks to Phil for his efforts to educate and keep this site clean. Their are others out there that could join in the fun. Keep up the good work and sharing your observations with us. I enjoy your articles and your friendship. Rolan
Fishin' Freak Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 We are fortunate that we have several professional sportsmen and many very good fisherman that help make this an educational, storytelling and fun web site. And a big thanks to Phil for his efforts to educate and keep this site clean. Their are others out there that could join in the fun. Great comment Rolan. This is a great site that we all can learn from. We owe a big thanks to Phil like you mentioned as well as Bill B. and many others who take the time to contribute on a regular basis. I know there insite and general information has made me a better fisherman. Bill takes time out of his busy schedule to post on here and help each and every one of us out. Thanks again guys! FF
Fishing Buddy Don House Posted June 6, 2007 Fishing Buddy Posted June 6, 2007 Bill, WOW! All because I had a really good day with a group of guys that could really fish. Bill, what I told you was real, it really happened and I was very excited over it. Does not always happen to me, matter of fact sometimes I really struggle to keep up with the other guides around here, that includes you, I don't have 30 years of experience. Just a mere 3 years as a guide. Did I tell you everything no, but I could tell by the way you looked at me when I told you was one of those I don't believe this guy look. Did it hurt my feelings YES, I was telling you what happened to me on that day no lies, no BS, I was very excited that it finally happened to me!! Did it bother me YES!, I have no reason to lie or BS to you, what will that get me nothing! So I just chalked it up to a life experience and next time just keep my mouth shut and keep it to myself, and then your post, was it really needed? Hear is what you said and how I'm taking it, And I quote... "One guy told me it was as easy as it gets. His clients had 45 fish, on a drop shot. "Don't know", but if they did they are twice as good as the rest. I fish somewhere every day and am usually very intune with what the fish are doing, but I just have not seen that kind of bite. Maby it is starting and the rest if us have just not found it. At least 4 other guides that have fished the lake for 30 plus years fished the same water and didn't come near these totals, or for that matter, even close. I know it only takes 1 good spot, "on the drop to really produce, but we have just not caught fish as deep as what I was told, especially in those numbers." So the way I read this is because 4 other guides did not do it, it is very unlikely or rare that I could, "especially in those numbers"? I "don't know" just feel it was unneeded, just my opinion, just like the above was your opinion. It's all in how you put it on paper and how others will read it and take it. How would you take someone doubting your reports? That is the question I ask you to think about, just think about it. As far as my day last week, believe it or not, it was one of the best I have ever had, got lucky, right place right time, I just found fish that no one else had found yet in 35 feet of water on a drop shot, and then I put it to work in every place I went just like it there were the same type of fish! I know it was 45 fish because my clients were the ones counting, counting every fish, it mattered to them, that is why they hire guys like you and I! It's really sad, I used to love to come on this site and post reports about my days fishing, but then I started getting a lot of slack by other guides out there for giving out too much information or my reports gave out too much detailed information, so I stopped! Just like now I guess I will just not say anything to anyone anymore, I will just smile and wave as we pass and keep it at that. Sad Really Sad! One more thing as far as the tip goes it was one of the best I have ever had. As far as you and Rick, I feel he was just teasing you and maybe you are taking it too personally just like me and your post. But I will let Rick speak for himself. As far as improving, may I suggest spell check? As referenced below: intune? intune is not a word, it should be in tune maby should be maybe dropped shotted? huh? that should be drop shot barley should be barely = unless you're talking about grains and breads gurb? I think its grub technolegy should be technology hidding? that should be hiding vinue is actually venue medeoaker (LOL) should be mediocre allegance is allegiance and last, monicar is moniker And that was just on this thread, I didn't bother going back to all 400 of your posts. By the way if you feel it unnecessary for my services on next Wednesday business trip, that is fine with me. Well that is that, you know how I feel now and I'm out of here. Don House Capt. Rolan Duffield Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Don: Here's my two cents worth. We appreciate your reports, whatever is given in the interests of life's experiences. I know from experience that one person can have a fantastic day yet others will struggle. It has happende to me. Sometimes in the same boat one individual can be slaying the fish yet other good fishermen will not be catching them. It happens. I'm sure Bill didn't mean any disrespect. Thats not like him. Keep up the good postings. We appreciate your reports. Rolan
Bill Babler Posted June 6, 2007 Author Posted June 6, 2007 I stand corrected on all the spelling errors. I apologize for my lack of time in going to the spell check. Probably because I don't have one. No excuse, I should take the time to look it up. Your name was not and would have never been mentioned in any way, by myself or any of the other guides. EVER!!!! Rick is the one that made all the remarks, mentioning you, just so he could try and make a splash about the sonar. It was my fault and I apoligize, but Rick threw you in the fire. Don, you have come on the forum and been very helpful and it has been appreciated. I seriously doubt that anyone thought you were giving too much info except Rick. I know this to be a fact, as I spoke to the boys about it. Rick, on the other hand has done nothing but be crass. I for the life of me don't know why as he has never acted that way in person. I always thought we had a great relationship. I believe this Hummingbird thing is the issue. I have never disrespected Rick and would never do so. He for some reason feels differently. Who in the heck knows, I might have a bird in the future as I stated in a previous post. What difference does it make, what sonar we use? Are megar sponsorships so important that they should dictate how we treat others. Just because we use different products should not matter. I long for the day everyone will pay full price for everything, and use products with no bias, just because they love them. The good old Ford, Chevy debate. Not the one, I get this for dealers cost or 20% under, so you should go buy one. Don, I frankly admit, that I just flat did not believe you. I apoligize for that. Before I posted a word, I spoke to the troup, and you know who they are. They all said "When Pigs Fly". That was the toughest day that any of us had on the Rock all year, and you know even when I have a tough day I post. What it is, is what it is. A couple of these guys caught two to eight fish in 8 hrs. I'll post just as quick when I catch 1 or 20, it really does not matter to me. I always do my best, and the numbers are what they are. I believe now, they moved deep, and you found the spot before the rest of us. I congratulate you. It was such a tough day and you were so much better we just could not believe it. Luck, as both you and Rick put it, I do not believe was a factor. You made your own luck, and you made the decision to go to those locations. Those numbers were incredible. We didn't believe it and I am deeply sad that I let my fingers think before my brain. As more than one of the boys said, you guys have just a bit of a reputation, for enhancing the numbers, from time to time, and that contributed to everyone's disbelief. I don't care what the others thought, I should have believed you. What really threw a monkey in the works, is you told me one thing and Rick, posted another. Tell it like it is, who cares? It's obvious, your spots are safe as we are still not catchen-em like that. As far as being cad about the spelling errors, I know you were hurt, and again apoligize. None of this would have ever mattered if Rick had not printed your name. If you wish not to join us next week, I understand, but you would be missed. I am still expecting you at 7:30 AM on the 13th unless you tell me you won't be there. Good Luck, and Sincere Best Wishes, Bill http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Members tablerockguide Posted June 6, 2007 Members Posted June 6, 2007 Bill, you amaze me. Blaming me for bringing Don into this when all your comments were directed at him in the first place. I was trying to defend my employee and his word which before you edited your post you implied he was a liar. We don't enhance our numbers. Just no one believes us, which is fine. That is the reason I don't post reports or share all the information that occurs on any given trip. Don is the only reason I have a fishing report on my website, and I am contemplating taking it off now. AS far as the Humminbird issue, I have never said anything negative against any other brand of depthfinder. I just told you how the Humminbird performs like no other product out there. I don't make many posts on here because you seem like you have to reply to something I say about anything I use. But when you stepped over the line at Don, even though you didn't mention his name. I knew, a couple guys that called me knew. That was enough for me. So you will be happy that this will be my last post here, knowing that anything I say to defend my employee or myself it will end up another fiasco like this. Capt. Members Michael Posted June 6, 2007 Members Posted June 6, 2007 WWJD, Well I believe he would not get all upset over this. Let us look to what is really important. Now I have to tell you all that I really appreciate all of the post from all of you guides. Speaking as a novice fisherman I am in awe at your knowledge and being able to find the fish like you do. I am not on the water everyday and wish I could be but am thankful for the weekends. So I am thankful for the knowledge that you all share with us. Thanks, See you on the lake
