Bass fishing has been tough down there for awhile. The water going down and cooling down was just starting to make fishing a little better. The rain and water going back up put the kabosh on that. pulled one nice bass out on a white chatterbait at sunrise. Had been getting of small ones on spooks, plastic worms, jerkbaits, and small spoons that match the size of the shad.  This is my first fall here, any suggestions for good baits this time of year or type of water best to fish? Not seeing any big fish down there like spring.

I was hoping you'd get more replies, kind of curious myself about what is working.

You'd think a buzz bait would be worth fishing, squarebill too.  I caught some bass on Table Rock this week on a 1/8 oz shaky head with a 6" worm, that may be worth a shot.  I would look for banks with wind on them.  Might try a spinner bait with the water up like it is.

what do you think the best top water bait / plug / spinner would be for stripers on Beaver  this month and next

My fall striper fishing experience is limited.  I like Evergreen SB's in size 125 mainly because they cast a mile.  Fall fish seem shy of them for some reason however, they eat them up in the spring.  They make a smaller SB, a 105, I might try that this fall if I do any striper fishing.

I talked to a guy several times last fall that was fishing some of the same areas I was - he had some days where he tore them up on an Alabama rig.

Here's the bait that worked for me last fall, it's a tail spinner, weighs about an ounce, casts a mile, but it is a fairly small profile.  I like to rip it though surfacing fish, pause, rip it again.  You can also let it go deep if you want.  It is made by Lunkerhunt.

Thanks for the  reply Quillback. I'm new to this forum. I've lived in NWA for almost a year and been reading the posts all along. I finally decided to sign up and be part of it. That said, I went fishing both days this weekend for a few hours. Saturday I ran into a school of small whites near sunset. Got a bunch of them and a few small bass on kastmaster silver 1/2 oz. I used a sharpie to add a black dot on the lure. Yesterday a went in the afternoon, ended up getting 2 3lb. bass on texas-rigged junebug powerworms in 2-5ft of water in the back of a cove. That was my last resort and it worked. I fished deeper water and threw everything with no luck before that. No stripers spotted down there yet, but it looks as though the higher and cooler water is bringing some fish in.

Cool, any day a person can catch a couple of three pound bass on Beaver is a good day!

Headed south in the morning. We plant to hit Table Rock first and unless we really do well there we're headed to Beaver Saturday in hopes of top water stripers! Will report in Saturday. With pics fingers crossed.
