mrgungho Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 Went out Saturday from 8-5 and had a pretty decent day (considering air temps never got above 44 degrees) with 11 fish in the boat (all keepers). Overcast. We started with an 8 mph North Wind that died as the day went on. Water temps from 51-54 degrees and there was a very slight stain to the water. Water levels 721.2. We caught most of our fish on a jig. Colors were PBJ and Okeechobee, 1/2oz and 3/8oz with speed craw trailers. In most cases they were biting on the insides of the secondary points. In some areas there was moss but in other areas there was no moss at all. We couldn't quite figure out the formula for the moss variance. It is definitely clinging to the brush and timber. Caught them parallel in about 17-25 fow in the areas there was moss and then caught them from 4-25 fow in the areas there was not. Also had a good Jerk bite for a couple fish when we could find wind and/or shad. Parallel to the bank in about 15 fow on the jerk. Medium cadence. Otherwise had one on a SB and a couple more on a soft plastic in the brush. Lots of KY that were all super chunky and around 2.5lb average. Had 2 LM and 8 KY and 1 Mean. Best fish was 3.2. Best 5 were a little over 13# Looking forward to going out again soon! Good luck. bobby b., m&m, SpfldCoAngler and 5 others 8 "Some go to church and think about fishing, others go fishing and think about God."
