The last two Tuesdays were super productive so I guess the law of averages balanced things out today..

I threw jerkbaits, jigs, then headed to the outlets and tried scuds and midges...not a single bite...

I dont think i have the high flow tactics figured out quite yet...i tried some heavier 1/4oz.  jigs but I wasn't keeping consistent bottom contact.

I did have one pretty cool encounter with about an 18" rainbow. Flipped my midge and float setup upstream to float it down to him..when it got to him he slowly rose and sipped in my pink float...makes me want to start tying some dries..

As far as my new equipment reviews. I LOVE my new pflueger trion combo. I got the 6' medium light with the 30 size reel and its my new favorite trout rod. Super light weight and the reel is super smooth.

As for my other purchase, the size 25 Pflueger President reel, I was not overly impressed. It seems like its needs a lube job right out of the box...it ran fairly smooth but it's like i can feel the gear teeth meshing and it makes a very light grinding noise..anyone have a similar experience?

It was tough yesterday one of the guides that was out,  called and told me it was his worst day ever on Taney.  Phil and I were out a couple of hours and only caught a few.

That actually makes me feel a little better 😊 still such a pretty night to be out. I was surprised I nearly had the place to myself but that's why I fish Tuesdays
