jdmidwest Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 John Hoskins is the current director of the MDC. Someone accused me of working for them so I might as well be the top guy. Has anyone called anyone at the MDC and requested a report? "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Chief Grey Bear Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Al, Thanks for your input...least you're making a lagit effort and conduct yourself in a professional manner...more than I can say for some. I may have taken this quote from you wrong, but felt you were pointing, and possibly rightly so, your finger at me. I will agree there are about couple of us here that though we are not in agreement on this topic and it doesn't look like we will ever be and it appears that we are ready to go to fist city (haven't heard that term in a while have ya?)I don't believe that is anywhere near the truth. Now in an earlier post you said you like to bend a rod. That and bbqing are my passions. We should hook up sometime. jdmidwest- I guess I missed the post stating you were an employee of the MDC. brownieman Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Has anyone tired of beating this dead horse yet?? Oh yeah, my real name is JOHN HOSKINS, anybody know who I am???? I could beat a whole herd of these type horses till the day I drop, lol IMO I wish I could verbally black the whole systems eye...my intent is to raise awareness, for people not to turn a blind eye...change will be slow at best, understanding and recognizing the problem (which applies to addictions, habits, behavior, etc.) is the first step. Few have the ability to examine themselves and admit their faults at a personal level or otherwise. "If it aint broke don't fix it" seems to be the predominant mindset these days. John Hoskins...I know who he is and all his predecessor's...couldn't fathom one in his position posting on a "public" forum. No problem CG...It's proclivity to often perceive made statements. jcoberley Posted July 14, 2007 Author Posted July 14, 2007 John Hoskins is the current director of the MDC. Someone accused me of working for them so I might as well be the top guy. Has anyone called anyone at the MDC and requested a report? John, I have called several times. I have an idea! You might call in as an average Joe and ask a few questions and I would guess you would get the same run around I have got. I have asked what land has been acquired after the 1/8-cent tax and how much land is owned and is their public access. Well all I get told is go to a meeting and ask there! Also I wanted to know about handicap access. Well my friend try and fish on the handicap dock below the dam and you will need a badge and gun to get on it. We need more for them and we need more respect for them. There are a lot of questions that get pushed under the carpet. I also have a name and it is my user name and I am proud of it. I am the one that started this topic and I have questions as to where the money has went and I also have questions to drawing over 1 million in interest. I fully understand what kind of money it takes to draw that much interest. So you have large reserves. Then for one why would cut our trout limit and raising the tags. I for one feel it was for adding to the large pool of cash reserves! Second where dose the monies go from the huge amounts of timber that’s being sold off. And that brings another question? Why are we cutting down them large trees? And why are we spending money elsewhere to preserve them. I can and will talk about all this if you would like to! brownieman Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 The following comes from "The Fishes of Missouri" by William L. Pflieger, published by MDC in 1975. Under the trout section of the book under "Importance" the following ends the section. "These trout are stocked in four parks and nine less intensively managed areas. Over the years the demand for trout fishing has increased dramatically. During the period from 1955 to 1965, the number of trips made by fisherman annually to the four trout parks maintained by the Department rose from 73,000 to 238,000, an increase of 326%." Just found that interesting ? My friends say I'm a douche bag ?? Avatar...mister brownie bm <><

jcoberley Posted July 14, 2007 Author Posted July 14, 2007 I feel they need to be accountable and I just don’t see any. If one were to invest in a stock and they only see an audit every 4 years well it’s way to late to do much about anything and WAM your broke! Every company I have every worked for did a statement and an audit every year! I even noticed my city and my county has a yearly statement audited why should I expect less of the MDC? These controls are in place for everyone’s protection. If upfront and honest there is nothing to hide but when one hides behind a 4 year audit there is a mound of paper work to hide or misplace and no one is accountable. But that’s just my opinion. CC I bet your state even dose an audit every year? Fish slow and easy! Borrowed this one from..........Well you know who! A proud memer of P.E.T.A (People Eating Tasty Animals)

Your impartial opinions are the reason I ask of you to share your views. IMO your words hold strength and come from "learned experiences"...you have seen much change in your life. You state, "Civil servants should be reminded at every opportunity that they ARE servants and the people are their masters". Profound statement but seems to be a$$ backwards these days. IMO, most so to speak "give it up" when it comes to trying to get answers which is exactly what the bureuacrats count upon, at any level...time and money are both to their advantage, a luxury less enjoyed by us "common folk"...the "System" itself becomes their most valuable tool and the common folk (whom are the ones that write their paychecks with tax dollars) just become lost in the clutter. IMO it's pretty much a given...right or wrong?...we each have our opinions but the whole matter just leaves this old boy a bad taste in turn making it even harder to swallow.
