Is this still a place you can launch at? I've heard folks talk of it but its always stories from the past. I'm looking for put in places past Cherokee landing and am stumped. Also heard of there being an access in blackwell somewhere. Anybody have any insight on this dilemma?

Nope, private. Talk to Steve at Cherokee about access @ Blackwell. There is a new rock climbing venue below Cole’s. Robinson Bluff, they say they have boat access, dunno. Customer of mine owns Robinson, have not been there to check it out. Small fee and a waiver for a day pass. Let me know if you go.

I used to live right past Robinson’s bluff on the river. There is no boat access there lol. There’s a large set of stairs descending to the bottom of the bluff. Definitely not an access. No public access between Cherokee and 21. I have a couple private places between those two so may see you on the river one day.

Doesn’t look very kayak friendly. 😂 thanks for the input guys. I’ve floated most of the river From mounts to Cherokee but was just looking for a way to get on a different stretch.

Blackwell is doable if you don't mind a steep climb, but not a place to leave a vehicle.  I now use a private access at Blackwell that I am not going to give out any information on, but I used to have my wife come and pick me up at the bridge, parking just long enough to load up the canoe and gear.  Cole's Landing hasn't been an access in at least 15 years.  Last time I used it, I paid the guy who said he was the owner.  A buddy also paid him to use the access a week or two later...come to find out, he no longer owned the property, and my buddy got chewed out by the owners.

Have noticed the rock climbers the last couple times I floated through there, but didn't see any obvious spots at the upper or lower end of the bluff that were being used as accesses.  The bluff is 100 feet of sheer cliff, so definitely would have to go around it, not down it!

Have not been for a visit Al. Dad & three  brothers own it. Will quiz them about boat access. It’s one of the boy’s projects. Some nice climbing there if you are into that!
