captmac Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I agree the big boat problem exists and it will not get better, not sure how to adjust when you see big boats all the way back in creek arms, skiing and tubing over treetops. I spend a lot of time touting the Shell Knob area as the quiet side of the lake, working for our chamber at sports shows for the last several years. With negative publicity from lake ozark, ie: the water quality the drownings ect, I only sadly see our lake becoming more and more crowded Wonder ...what it will be like in another 10 years[ To have a true friend is wonderful, to have a true friend who fishes with you....... priceless
denjac Posted June 27, 2007 Author Posted June 27, 2007 I always thought that a 30ft launch boat like the guides on Milac Lake in Minn. would work here too. They are great for large parties 15-20 have a head on them and a flat roof. They drift fish for walleye with them. It would work for spots, whites and brownies here too. Hmmmmmm, maybe it would go over. Very safe for all ages. Need a deck hand to help work it, netting and helping folks out. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. jcoberley Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I dont think your talking speed boats as I thought you were. Sorry for that. Speed boats just get on my nerves. However a nice pontoon with up to 50 hp would work and not cause much trouble if one uses common sence. Fish slow and easy! Borrowed this one from..........Well you know who! Fully blown and nitrous oxide injection of course. I would rather be fishin'. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote."
