Leonard
I met up with Wrath last night to let him see what fishing Taneycomo at night was all about... we met at the top of the steps of chute 2 at midnight and fished till just after 4am one word.... DISAPPOINTING!! We didnt get skunked but the bite was there.. we started at the guanlet.. caught 2... one on a pine squirrel (olive) and 1 one a white woolly.. went up between chute 1 and 2 and caught 2... one on the white woolly the other I dont remember.. then we went above chute 1 caught one on a black leech then moved down close to chute 1 and caught a nice cutbow about 17in on a black leech... 2 fish in 30 minutes we thought we were gonna get into some.. Never happened we tried sculpins, pine squirrel, leeches (mohairs and rabbit all colors), woolies (blacks, olives, whites)... we tried the top of the water.. middle.. and the bottom.. It just was there last night.. at the end.. when it was all said and done... I beleive he caught 6 and I caught 3... even Duane (duckydoty) said he was having a tough time last night.. Wrath, It was great meeting up with you.. just wish we could have gotten into the fish.. but it just didnt happen.. http://www.taneycomonights.com
Terry Beeson
Well, Friday night wasn't any better for me... I did manage a few fish, but the bite was NOT the normal night angling bite for sure. I went back this afternoon to see if maybe it was a night thing. Not really. I fished for a couple of hours and landed 6 with 4 more hookups. Nobody seemed to be doing any good (one unit running) except the family up at chute 1 fishing with worms and the guy fishing power bait from a fly rod... And a couple other guys fishing under indicators. They were doing OK... but not really hot fishing... I think maybe it's the full moon... Or maybe because Mr Ducky hasn't been to see the pheeshees in a while... The Caddis
This powerbait fly you speak of, how do you go about tying it? What colors work best for you?
duckydoty
The bite was a little slower last night. Friday night was definately better. Did real good when the rain started last night on white mink, but walked back to the truck with Midge Magic and by the time I got to fishing again the bite had slowed again. Pick up a few just above the rebar hole on the south side, 4 up by outlet 1, 2 below outlet 2, 3 or 4 in the gauntlet, 5 or 6 at the big hole and 2 on the island just past the big hole. Nothing real big, maybe 17" was the best. Olive pine squirrels, white minks and blood red mohairs leeches did the best for me. duckydoty A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! I ended up leaving this morning after I got up and that was good thing. It rained most of the way back to Wichita and alot of roads were impassable due to flooding!
