Greg Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Zach - you should look at the Peak vise too. It's right in your price range. Over the years I've tried just about every brand of vise. A couple of years ago Michael at BCO let me try a Peak in his shop. I bought one and it's the finest vise I've tried (IMHO) at any price. Smooth rotation and holds any hook I've tried rock solid. Here's the website: http://www.peakfishing.com/RotaryVise.htm Check out this review too: http://www.flyfisherman.com/ftb/hwvise/index24.html Greg "My biggest worry is that my wife (when I'm dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it" - Koos Brandt Greg Mitchell
Zach Bearden Posted July 9, 2007 Author Posted July 9, 2007 Greg, Ive thought about them... I just didnt know about them Id like to really try one before I went and bought one. But Im in Oklahoma and were basically a fly shop less wasteland... We have D+B outfitters but I dont know if they have one... "Its clearly Bree time baby!" Member: 2009 U.S. Youth Fly-Fishing Team. Gavin Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Havent seen the Griffin up close, but it looks nice...I'd also check out the Danvise and Renzetti Traveler cam jaw. Cheers.
Brian Wise Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 I can second Greg's Peak. I have to say it is the most solid rotary I have seen. None of the little "spindley" arms or anything like that....it's Manly(I wish there was an emoticon with flexing muscles... ) Brian My Youtube Channel
Terry Beeson Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Yah, de Peak vise is for a manly man... de Dan vise is for a gurly-mon! Yah... dat Dan vise is not a manly man's vise... I'm Hans... and he's Franz... and we're here to.... PUMP YOU UP!!! gonefishin Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Shoot, ya'll are talking about that kind of vice. I was getting all excited for nothing. I thought you were talking about the traditional vices like smoking, drinking, fast cars and chasing women. I would rather be fishin'.
