Devan S. Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Well I am starting to scope out either Elmdale, Bob Kid, or Swepco for my next trips. I expect that Swepco will be a fight for a parking spot on a weekend day if I haul over my bass boat. Will I be fighting for parking at Elmdale or Bob Kid if I drag the bass boat over on a weekend? Are any of these lakes covered in vegetation like Leatherwood?
Quillback Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 Never have fished Elmdale. Here is the link to AGFC's management plan which has some info: Elmdale FMP 2019.pdf - Google Drive Kidd and Swepco are going to be busy on a weekend, been a while since I've been to Kidd, but I recall that there is plenty of parking. Swepco not so much. If I was going to Swepco I would get there before daylight to launch. Swepco sometimes isn't too bad this time of year as it is in the winter as the bass fishermen have other opportunities elsewhere.
Devan S. Posted May 30, 2021 Author Posted May 30, 2021 I knew Swepco would be bad but a buddy said it generally gets that way when I'm thinking about trout/walleye(late fall into early spring). If I get to Bob Kidd and the parking lot is full can you park in the grassy area around the parking lot? I just dont want to drive 1.5hrs to not be able to find a parking spot.
Quillback Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 Based on this drone video, I don't think you'll have a problem finding a place to park. Best view of the lot is near the end. BOB KIDD LAKE - YouTube
