Did anyone get any specific brands/models to recommend?

Looking for 10-footers (I think) that can be carried down a couple of miles of rutted portage trail, and be stable enough in mildly choppy (fresh)water. No whitewater or nasty chop needs.

Obviously, inexpensive but decent-quality ones would be at the top of the list. As would ones with some storage space. We'd use these to get ourselves to an island for two uninterrupted, and un-resupplied best offshore fishing kayak, weeks.

These would be for myself and each of my teen sons (14 and 16 when we make our trip this coming summer). We've all had kayaking experiences, including on Lake Huron, and they're strong kids. We're also kinda lanky 6-footers if that matters.

Thanks!

I did a quick search for and this exact subject was covered in depth before.

Here's the whole search.  It's been discussed on here MANY times.   https://forums.ozarkanglers.com/search/?q=kayak&quick=1
