MObassin95 Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 Hey all, With the low water levels, would you recommend Delaware to Shelvin or Shelvin to Hootentown? I normally fish down from Hootentown but want to try something new! I'm leaning towards Delaware Town to Shelvin because I think it gets less pressure. Thanks in advance! Bass Yakker 1

Most of these stretches have a ton of boats on them anymore. Yeah they aren't all fishing but a bunch of them are. With the low water on the upper areas I think I would choose Shelvin to Hooten right now between those two. The Finley dumps in on that stretch and that area always fishes well this time of the year. You also have some smaller spring fed creeks that come in as well. I don't know how far below Hooten you have been going but Kerr to Galena has good water right now. Galena to Blunks should be good too with much less people. If you are interested mostly in fishing there are some good spots to paddle upstream from and fish back. Those areas see a lot less people. It can be a huge pain in the arse though. Bass Yakker and MObassin95 2
MObassin95 Posted July 12, 2022 Author Posted July 12, 2022 Thank you! I normally fish from Mcall Bridge to Indian Tree golf course. The fishing is good there! I think I am going to fish Hootentown to Mccall Bridge. I'll post pictures if I do well! Bass Yakker 1

I haven't seen any of the water from Hootentown to Kerr in probably 20 years. I need to change that. MObassin95 and Bass Yakker 2

MObassin95 Posted July 14, 2022 Author Posted July 14, 2022 Update: Fished from 8:00AM to 2:30 PM. Caught about a dozen or so bass. Smallies, largies and goggle eye. Largest was a 14 inch smallmouth. I sure have fallen in love with river fishing! Bass Yakker and Flysmallie 2

Flysmallie Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 I’d be up for that. But I’m a few weeks away from being able to fit it in. dan hufferd 1
