oneshot 1 Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 Well Once again living in the woods have to do something with the Leaves. I have a Blower and usually blow them in piles and burn them. One year I used the mower to pile them up and burn them. I'm considering just mowing them but there is so many. oneshot
MOPanfisher Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 Mow/mulch them. Raise the de k as high as it will go and go over them a couple times. Don't wait for them all to fall hit it at least once a week. Also after you make the first mulching they don't stick as well and blow off easier in the wind. feather n fin 1

Yup--this is what I do and the zero turm makes quick work of it. We have 5 pecans and those leaves really get brittle and mulch to dust--the oak and walnut notsomuch. https://woodlandclearing.wordpress.com

Suddenly you realize they are basically gone. If heavy leaves sometimes you have to rodeo the mower back and forth so you don't end up just bulldozing a pile in front of you. feather n fin 1

Hey Pan---I do concentric circles blowing to the center so as to thoroughly mulch. I have an acre, so it means some leaves. https://woodlandclearing.wordpress.com

Give the leaves at least two chops. But mower time is good time to me I don't mind making extra passes if it isn't too dusty. A little rain makes it nicer work. feather n fin 1

oneshot 1 Posted October 29, 2022 Author Posted October 29, 2022 I have been burning them but getting to much in the yard. Got a big front yard but using it for garden and orchard. oneshot
Members feather n fin Posted October 29, 2022 Members Posted October 29, 2022 Burning here especially this year would be risky. They build the soil when mulched. MOPanfisher 1 https://woodlandclearing.wordpress.com
