Mark Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 Planning a trip to Fort Collins in July. Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect from the Cameron Fire up the Poudre Canyon? I am hoping we won't be disappointed from the scenery from the fire.
motroutbum Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Runoff sediment from the fire has devastated the river for most of it's length. There are still fish to be caught, but the numbers took a huge hit. It will be a while before that river comes back into its own. You're better off driving down to the Big Thompson. cmoore03 1 There are two types of people. Those who dream dreams and wish, then there are the do'ers. I am a do'er!
dpitt Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Fished it over Thanksgiving was able catch some where the ice was open. I believe there are some sections that where not affected by the sediment. St Pete's fly shop in Ft Collins will tell you where the sections are. Great shop and they are more than willing to help. As far as scenery one word Stunning! Just being there and taking in the beauty is worth it. Johnsfolly 1
