Okieflyfisher53 Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 He is on the morning "Zoo" on KMOD, 97.5 in Tulsa. I think some of the other Clear Channel stations also play his pranks.
Seth Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 I'll tell you what... If you dont believe me... that fine... I really dont care.. If you really want to know... for the past 2 days Ive been there, there has been 2 older gentleman 1 sits in a chair most of the time.. ASK HIM!! the other stands across the outlet from him... ASK HIM TOO!!.... they have been there Monday and tuesday morning from about ?? till 11am-or so... so if anyone want to go there and ask about monday morning FELL FREE!! Take it easy on ol Leonard. He's a bit windy sometimes. Heck he hasn't even actually caught a trout before. If you are looking for advice on how to catch big fish, especially at night, please do not ask him. He will get you no where in a hurry. Pine squirrel you say? He doesn't even know what a squirrel is. ......(hopefully this will trick everybody else into leaving him alone come November and I come fish with him and actually catch some LUNKER BROWNS!!! )
brownieman Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Being the case with me...i would not know Leonard if i were talking to him unless he identified himself. I think if most were to self evaluate which i do often...heck...I could hate him for one reason. I am envious as heck he gets to fish so much and is payed to do so, lol...Leonard, as i said before, just hope it don't burn you out on something you enjoy...does happen. Would speculate this being the underlying factor in many instances. Us men tend to have this big thing called an 'ego'...and don't like it stepped on whatever the case may be. I'm just thankful he posts up like he does...he's there so since I'm not he is a very helpful tool for me as I live 4 hrs away. I'm sure he has his reasons for experimenting in the day light concerning seeing things you can't in the dark...makes total sense to me. Ethics... I could give numerous methods I've seen to take big fish that will not bite and it's considered legal...unethical?..heck yeah...legal..heck no...but they have tweaked it and know well what they do. Phil ask of me one time not to expose these type methods as to not plant seeds which could grow in the minds of a beginner or unethical fisherperson...I respect that because he is right...just by talking about it often can be suggestive whether that is the intent or not, so, it's better off unspoken. I don't want to be responsible for teaching someone how to cheat a catch just by me honestly just discussing it on a public forum. It's too bad...all are not ethical and make if tougher for the ones who are. Leonard, I for one appreciate your posts...no matter what you say it's a good overall indicator of how and when the fish are moving straight from the horses mouth so to speak. bm My friends say I'm a douche bag ?? Avatar...mister brownie bm <><
Rolan Duffield Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 I have fished with Leonard one time at night and he made a beliver out of me. He does know this water very well. Thats what it takes to catch Trout on a regular basis regardless of the type of flies you use and the presentation methods. You learn those things by experience. Many years ago I often fished with a friend who had the knack of catching selected trout in the stream and he was very good at it. He used a #14 flo. green scud with a short tail of the same material. He had the patience and ability to pick out a trout and drift the scud into the fishes mouth. He did not cast long distances. Just fished the water near to him. His name was Charley Schultz. A very outstanding sportsman and a true friend to many of us oldtimers. Rolan
