MrDucky Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Bass Pro in springfield sell Seal Skin brand waterproof socks and also I think they are Simms wading socks . I am wondering which would be better for Fishing in at Taney when its hot outside , I cannot stand the though of putting my waders on during a hot humid day Yikes!!! I Hate that warning horn
Chief Grey Bear Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Well, for me I just use a regular pair of low cut socks in my Chuck Taylor Converse high tops. Best thing I have ever found for wading creeks. Keeps out all them dang rocks. This will only work if you don't mind getting wet though. jdmidwest Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Wet wading a tailwater stream could be a little leg numbing even in 90 degree weather. Seal Skinz are breathable socks designed to be worn with shoes to keep your feet dry. If you go over the top of them, your feet will get wet. If you wet wade, use socks or neoprene booties. Best bet would be lighter goretex waders or hip boots in summer months. That water is still colder than most springs or creeks. Rusty Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 I always liked using the seal skins with the club marks and blood stains on them. Made for a more manly fishing day.
jdmidwest Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 I think that is why that it is spelled SKINZ. Not to be confused with the poor little critter that the Eskimos beat to death to make a pair of boots. patfish Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 JD, isn't what you just said "Eskimo Bashing"?
