Got out first light (which is darn early this time of year).   Was looking for topwater striper but didn't see anything major, just a few individuals here and there.   Moved to 3 different spots but same result.   Very little bass topwater action as well.  I did find one location and was able to get about 4-5 on tw.  Mix of spots and smallmouth.  One spot was a nice fat 16.5 in.

From there, worked the smallmouth and they seemed scattered, one here, one there.   Bite shut off for me at 9 and of the water by 10.

I think I'll try walleye next week since tw striper aren't cooperating :).

Water temp around 81 +/-

Here's biggest of the morning.

Thanks for the report. I was just thinking,  do I want to drag out of bed early and hit Beaver for the outside chance of some striper/LM topwater.

We are past the summer solstice as of Jun 20. So the 4:30 wake up call will start to push back. If I can't hit the water at first light, I just don't go.

I'll keep hitting Loch LoMond in BV (five minute drive) for the early LM topwater bite. Yeah I get some dinks, but lately been getting the one off 3 lb +.

I've been thinking of going to loch Lomond.   I buy a BV boat pass but never use the BV lakes.

I'll think I'll try mid lake next week for early tw then move to walleye.

Thanks for the report, Dutch and I plan to give it a shot Tuesday.  Going to be warm according to the forecast so we may be off the water at 1000 ourselves.

Fished Windsor yesterday with a buddy, we caught about 20 bass but they were all small, nothing over 14".  Dragging C-rigs with Zoom UV Speed craws.
