I been seeing a lot of ppl tying midges on straight shank. Are you having better hook up with this straight shank vs the curved traditional style midge hook

I fish straight shank midge hooks in still or when I'm suspending in the water column, I think provides a bigger profile for the trout looking up, curved when bottom bouncing midges if faster water.   Also, not sure but, when midges/nypmphs are rising to the surface they may be more elongated,.  All that said I've caught fish in reverse scenario, so I might be just overthinking things, the size is probably more important  :)
