Jdecoudres Posted July 20 Posted July 20 I been seeing a lot of ppl tying midges on straight shank. Are you having better hook up with this straight shank vs the curved traditional style midge hook
dpitt Posted July 20 Posted July 20 I fish straight shank midge hooks in still or when I'm suspending in the water column, I think provides a bigger profile for the trout looking up, curved when bottom bouncing midges if faster water. Also, not sure but, when midges/nypmphs are rising to the surface they may be more elongated,. All that said I've caught fish in reverse scenario, so I might be just overthinking things, the size is probably more important snagged in outlet 3 1
