How is the Bass Fishing

Still trying to decide what lake I want to go to next week. So how is the fishing down there?

I'm not fishing for bass, but seem to be catching several smallmouth recently.  Probably not that helpful, but all that I know directly.  I heard that the bass tournaments have been tough lately and relatively small bags winning.

I have fished the last 2 weekends up there and I can tell you if there is somewhere you know you can catch them, do that instead.  Both weekends, I caught alot of fish, but small short fish.  I had 5 small keepers last weekend and this weekend I only had 3.  I did have 2 more keepers come off at the boat.  As far as a pattern,  your guess is as good as mine.  I caught them in 5 inches of water on a jig or in 70 ft of water at 20-30 suspeneded on a 2.8 kietech. Caught a few on plopper styles through out the day.  I could not find a brush pile bite to save my life which is normally my go to this time of year.  Anyway, this may or may not help but it was a struggle for me personally.
